MELLOW BRIDE // CHAPTER THREE

The final 2 days of my cruise I looked like a sad pound puppy. Without Senadin the excitement I felt was gone. When we arrived back at the port the first thing I did was facetime Sene. When I saw him pop up on my screen the excitement I had was right back. We decided within the next 2 weeks I would be in Bosnia. I found my flight before I even got back home from the cruise port. Now came the hard part to tell the rest of my family that I had met a European guy on the cruise and that within the 3 days of us knowing each other we had decided to get married. I think the only thing that saved me was my mom and grandma were there to witness the chemistry and instant love I have for Senadin. The hardest one to sell on the idea was my dad. To my surprise, my dad had ties to Bosnia. The only European country where my dad knew 2 people from. I think this both worked in my favor and against it. He had worked with a lady and man both from Bosnia. I think at one point he might have tried to do a background check on him. But I mean could I really blame him? If my 19 year-old daughter came back from a cruise claiming to have met a man and in a matter of 3 days decide to get married. I think I might have been a little suspicious too. Once they had their first video call I could tell he felt better.  Senadin was a total smooth talker but you could tell he was an honest and good person at his core. Once Senadin talked to my dad I meet his family. The language barrier was hard but you could tell they were just as excited as I was. The next day I went to a local bridal shop to try on wedding dresses. Now for anyone who knows me they will tell you I’m not exactly the girliest of girls. I never have been and I never will. To me, it was kinda just another thing added to my already full to-do list. By the time I tried on the 2nd the dress I had met my limit. Lucky for me the 2nd dress was perfect. I didn’t really put much thought into the dress because, to be honest, I never really thought about a wedding dress before. In a total of about 40 minutes, I could check wedding dress off my list. Even the owner of the dress shop said I was the mellowest bride she ever met. The rest of the wedding ensemble was also fairly easy. Borrowed some shoes from my mom. That night I booked my one-way flight for Bosnia. 1 more week and I would be in Bosnia. My mom and I got our plane tickets from NC to AtlantaAtlanta to MunichMunich to Zagreb then finally Zagreb to Sarajevo. My dad would get a plane ticket after us. We didn’t have a date for the wedding yet, once I arrived we would go to the court offices to get an exact date. About 1 week after we arrived we would try for that Saturday, September 12th. My parents would leave 1 week after the wedding. That time we would travel around Zenica, Mostar, and Sarajevo and get to know Senadin’s family.

I wanted this chapter to be longer but for some reason, I was having a hard time getting my brain to write out this chapter. Let me know what you think so far about the story! Thanks for checking out my blog!
